Adopting a pet is an exciting journey and a significant responsibility. The Animal World Foundation is dedicated to ensuring each animal finds the most suitable family. Here is our adoption process to help you understand how to welcome a new member into your home.
Adoption Process
1.Pre-Adoption Self-Assessment
Understanding Responsibility: Before adopting, assess whether your lifestyle and conditions are suitable for pet ownership. Consider your living environment, work hours, and your ability to provide long-term care and medical expenses for a pet.
2.Browse Adoptable Animals
Animal Information: Visit our website or our partner adoption sites to view detailed information on all available pets, including their age, personality, health status, and special needs.
3.Submit Adoption Application
-Fill Out Application Form: After choosing a pet you are interested in, complete the adoption application form. This form includes your basic information, living environment, and pet care experience.
-Required Documents: Provide proof of identity and proof of address.
4.Video Home Visit
Conduct Video Home Visit: To simplify the process and accommodate time constraints, we will conduct a home visit via video call. This step is to assess whether your living environment is suitable for the pet you wish to adopt. You can show your living space and discuss the pet’s needs and your expected daily care routine.
5.Meet the Pet
Interaction and Understanding: If the home visit goes well, you will have the opportunity to meet the pet at our center or its current foster home. This is an important step to assess the chemistry between you and the pet.
6.Formal Adoption
-Sign Adoption Agreement: Once both parties are confirmed to be a good match, you will sign the adoption agreement and pay a small adoption fee to support our rescue work.
-Receive Your Pet: After completing all the procedures, you can officially take your pet home.
7.Post-Adoption Support
-Ongoing Guidance: AWF will provide initial care and training guidance to ensure a smooth transition for both you and your pet.
-Open Communication: We encourage all adopters to contact us for support if they encounter any issues.
